April 22, 2009 Update!! The Senate Committee on Health and Human Services defeated HB 1175 by a vote of 5-2 today. There were three amendments added to the bill before it was defeated. Please thank the following Senators for their vote to defeat the bill to regulate "naturopathic doctors": Senator Betty Boyd, Chair, Senator Lois Tochtrop, Vice Chair, Senator Shawn Mitchell, Senator Dave Schultheis, and Senator Kevin Lundberg. Check back soon for further information. April 9, 2009 Update!! The Senate Health and Human Services hearing scheduled for today on HB 1175 has been postponed until Thursday, April 16, 2009, at 1:30 PM to allow the Senate additional time to debate the 2009-2010 state budget. HB 1175 will be heard by the Senate committee on Health and Human Services on Thursday, April 2, 2009 upon adjournment of the Joint Committee on Health and Human Services. If you haven't contacted the members of the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services, please do so immediately! March 16, 2009 Update!! The House Appropriations Committee voted 7-6 on Friday, March 13, 2009, to send HB 1175 to the House Floor for passage. Please contact your member of the House and ask them to vote NO on HB 1175.
